Used in Metaview. Metaview is a CASE metasystem that provides a flexible and environment independent support for software developers. Using Metaview, the software developer can project data via a common repository where the knowledge of software development methods have been stored. It permits meta-modeling of a large class of development methods (environments), such as Dataflow Diagraming, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, and Ward and Mellor's Real-time Systems Methodology. EDL describes the conceptual objects and their relationships to the software development methods.
